The Turks and Caicos Cruise Port is located on the southern part of the island of Grand Turk and is officially called the Grand Turk Cruise Port.
Much more than your average place for getting on and off cruise ships, the Turks and Caicos Cruise Port covers 13 acres and has amazing amenities like a huge swimming pool with swim-up bar, shops, restaurants, a Starbucks, a spa, and a beautiful beach.
Ships are able to dock right at the pier here, so there’s no need for a tender which makes this a quick and easy port to visit.
Instead of an indoor waiting area, you can hang out by the pool or on the beach. Luckily, there isn’t much waiting necessary since your cruise ship handles immigration and customs.
There are restaurants and bars in the cruise port complex as well as along the beach within easy walking distance.

Things to Do at the Turks and Caicos Cruise Port
If you’re stopping for the day at this port, there are a variety of things you can do on the island of Grand Turk as well as right at the cruise port itself.
Grand Turk is pretty small, so you can spend a few hours checking it out. Everything of note is no more than 15 minutes away by car from the port, and you can either take a taxi, rent a car or golf cart, or take a shore excursion from your cruise line.
If renting a car or golf cart, you’ll want to make reservations in advance to be sure you get one—and remember that they drive on the left! You can pick them up at the cruise center, which is where you can get a taxi as well. You can also do the historical tram tour.
The top sights on Grand Turk are:
- The capital city of Cockburn
- Turks & Caicos National Museum
- HM Prison Museum
- Governor’s Beach
- Pillory Beach
- The Grand Turk Lighthouse
At the cruise port itself, there is a wide variety of things to do, so many people never leave the area. These include:
- A beautiful beach with chairs (some free, some paid), cabanas and snorkeling equipment available for rent, and watersports available for a fee (either through your cruise ship or an independent vendor)
- A huge pool
- A FlowRider wave pool
- Duty-free shop
- A wide range of other shops
- NASA exhibit about the 1962 Mercury mission
- Restaurants including the Caribbean’s biggest Margaritaville
Getting to and from the Grand Turk Cruise Port
It’s easy to get to and from the port from the airport, which is just about a mile away. While there isn’t a bus system, you can take a taxi or use a rental car to go back and forth.
Those with mobility issues will be happy to know that it is an accessible port, with ramps, a step-free pier and port exit, and accessible restrooms.
